National Quantum Mission

Approved by the Union Cabinet on 19 April 2023 at Rs 6,003.65 crore for 2023–24 to 2030–31. Four thematic hubs named on the Learn page: computing at IISc Bengaluru with C-DAC; communication at IIT Madras with C-DOT; sensing at IIT Bombay; materials at IIT Delhi. The Learn page says seventeen startups were reported under the mission. DST’s mission page states intermediate-scale computer goals of 50–1,000 physical qubits over eight years — a mission target, not a delivered machine.
