Sebastian Weidt

Universal Quantum’s site lists Sebastian Weidt as CEO and says he and Winfried Hensinger founded the company. It says they were collaborators at the University of Sussex, that Weidt is professor of quantum computing and entrepreneurship, and that in 2017 they published a blueprint for a large-scale trapped-ion computer. The page says they incorporated the company the following year.
