IBM introduced a lower-level execution model that runs circuits exactly as specified and exposes what happens on hardware, alongside new client-side Sampler and Estimator primitives in qiskit-ibm-runtime 0.50.0. IBM says it is the same framework used in its recent quantum advantage demonstrations and frames it as a platform for error mitigation through to full error-correcting codes.
A primary-source platform change from the biggest superconducting player, aimed squarely at error-correction researchers.
